On a Thursday evening back in August, A.T. and I ate out at No. 9 Restaurant in Lansdowne Mall in Richmond.
I’d never eaten there before but A.T. had, and he’d always enjoyed the food there, so I decided to give it a try too.
We both wanted the Beef Meat Ball & Wonton Noodle in Soup, but the waitress said they were out of something (I can’t remember exactly what now) and recommended their Beef Brisket & Wonton Noodle in Soup instead – and we both were fine with it. (This was the second time in as many weeks that I’d eaten out with A.T. and the other restaurant we were at before also ran out of things. Geez. Though I should say that No. 9 Restaurant was quite busy – it seemed most of the tables were occupied – so I suppose I could understand them running out of certain dishes, etc.)
We also wanted the Choy Sum veggies but were talked out of that by the waitress, who suggested the Broccoli with Oyster Sauce. I can’t remember exactly what the issue was with the choy sum but anyway, we took her suggestion and went with broccoli. So, if you’re scoring at home, we wanted two things and were talked out of both – weird to say the least.
The beef brisket soup was actually a fine choice (something that the waitress constantly reminded us when she came by our table). It was very delicious and sweet. It was great!
Unfortunately, we didn’t finish the veggies so A.T. took that to-go.
All in all, we enjoyed the beef brisket soup so it was definitely not the wrong choice to eat at No. 9 Restaurant.
