White Spot Portobello Gruyere Burger (BC Ferries)

On the final weekend of November, I headed to Nanaimo for a Grey Cup party at I.C.’s house. Of course, to get from Vancouver to Nanaimo, you had to take the ferry to the island, and during the 1-hour, 40-minute ride, I bought lunch as it was noon at the time and they had White Spot‘s menu at the Coastal Cafe on the ferry.

I went with the new Portobello Gruyere Burger Combo for C$11.49 plus tax, which came with fries and a soft drink. The burger was actually quite delicious! It was a beef burger with sautéed baby Portobello mushrooms, caramelized onions, Gruyere cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and the standard pickle on top. Oh yeah, and horseradish mayo too, which gave the burger an extra kick. Yummy!
